Appalachian State University

• The Prestigious Scholars Program through the Heltzer Honors Program at ASU is looking for students in the top 5% of their high school class, with Math + Verbal SAT scores of at least 1250 (29 for ACT) on average.  Apply soon before space is no longer available!

Big Sun Scholarship

• The Big Sun Organization is offering a scholarship to a deserving student athlete.  The deadline to apply is June 24^th.  Go to http://www.bigsunathletics.com to apply.

C.L. Robbins Foundation Scholarship

• The C.L. Robbins Foundation Scholarship  is available for seniors planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university in North Carolina.  To be eligible for the scholarship, you must have at least a 2.0 GPA, demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and high character/leadership traits.  To apply, go on-line to www.wachoviascholars.com.  The application deadline is May 31^st.

Gamewell Ruritan Club

• The Gamewell Ruritan Club scholarship is available to all students who show achievement, have participated in extra-curricular and church/community service activities, and students that exhibit financial need.  The scholarship can be used for any post-secondary school.  Application must be returned to Mrs. Miller by May 14^th, 2010.

Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC

• Students with at least a 3.5 GPA are eligible for the Golden Scholar Program, which includes a full scholarship to the university.  Call Mrs. Carolyn Scipio Glover at (301) 342-0140 or (240) 383-2855 for more information.

Ladies in Action Service League Scholarship

• The Ladies in Action Service League now has a scholarship available for minority students that have been admitted to a college or university and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.  Students meeting the minimum criteria and demonstrating financial need are encouraged to apply.  To apply for the scholarship, please visit www.ladiesinaction.org.  Applications are due by June 4, 2010.

NC Reach Scholarship

Ron and Christine Beane Scholarship

• Any senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college/university can be considered for the Ron and Christine Beane Scholarship.  Other eligibility requirements include:  must show financial need, academic achievement, involvement in school activities, community service, leadership potential, and good character and judgment.  If you have already received several scholarships you will not be eligible.  Please see Mrs. Miller to pick up an application.  The deadline to turn the application into Mrs. Miller is May 24^th.

SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes

• SunTrust is offering $1,000 to a high school senior every two weeks from October to May.  Eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need.  Registration begins on September 14 and you can re-enter every two weeks. See counseling services for details.
