Use of Teacher Assistant Module (TAM)
Starting with the 2006-2007 school year, all teachers in grades 3-12 shall be required to put assignments/assessments in the Teacher Assistant Module (TAM) of NCWISE. Teachers shall be required to place any assignment/assessment that will count toward the student's reporting period grade or final grade in the Teacher Assistant Module. Each teacher will be expected to make entries into the Teacher Assistant Module on at least a weekly basis . By meeting this requirement, teachers can avoid falling behind in entering assignments/assessments and grades. One primary purpose of entering this information is to provide parents/guardians with a Progress Report at the mid-point of any reporting period. All teachers in grades 3-12 will be required to provide Progress Reports for all report card classes. This report will be sent to parents/guardians in the most convenient method possible. This could include sending the Progress Report with the student, email or regular mail. The LEA NCWISE Coordinator shall be responsible for developing instructions for and providing appropriate training for: •§ Entering assignments/assessments into the Teacher Assistant Module •§ Printing Progress Reports from the Teacher Assistant Module •§ Informing schools of the dates Progress Reports are due The principal is responsible for assuring Progress Reports are transmitted to parents/guardians.
