My name is Soleil Reed. I have been teaching for 7 years and this is my 4th year at Horizons. I enjoy teaching and love the children. I have two degrees from Appalachian State University: a B.S. in Elementary Education and a B.S. in Psychology. I also teach E.S.L. for CCC&TI a couple of nights a week and tutor students at Hope Studios. When I do have a spare minute and on weekends, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. |

I am the first grade teacher here at Horizons. I have taught at Horizons for seven years (since the doors first opened!). I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education and Hearing Impaired Education. Prior to teaching at Horizons, I was the teacher for hearing impaired students of Caldwell County. My husband and I are blessed with a son who is thirteen and two daughters, ages twelve and one. Our family enjoys being outside, playing baseball and basketball together. We also enjoy getting together with our relatives (especially Grandpa, Grandma, and Gramma) as much as possible! |

I graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. degree in high school Social Studies with a concentration in Sociology. I attended Lenoir-Rhyne College to add my elementary school certification. I taught 6th grade at Sawmills Elementary for six years, at that point my husband and I decided to have me stay home and be a mother to my son and daughter. After 27 years, I decided to return to teaching. I choose to work for Horizons because I knew that I could make a difference. I have taught Kindergarten, Sixth, and now Second grades. |

Good day! Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Miss Lisa Hitaffer. I came to Horizons in 2005. I recived my B.S. from Lenoir-Rhyne College. Prior to joining Horizons' wonderful staff, I taught second grade at Oxford Elementary in Catawba County. Before that, I was a full time Youth Minister for many years in various parts of the country. My mother and I live with my 3 cats and 2 dogs. I spend much of my time hanging out with my nephew and nieces by the pool reading or watching movies. I also enjoy making up songs and if you walk by my class you just might hear us singing! |

I received my Middle School Science degree from Appalachian State University and was licensed in Elementary Education in 2006. Hi I'm David Taylor and I began teaching at Horizons Elementary School in the fall of 2004. I received my master's degree in special education from Appalachian State University with a concentration in learning disabilities and behavior disorders. I received my bachelor's of science degree in liberal studies from Excelsior College of Albany, NY. In my spare time I produce animated, musical video and design computer-based learning modules in order to teach mathematics basic skills. I am currently stock-piling math credits. |

My name is Patricia Church and I currently work at Horizons part-time as Curriculum Coach. I earned my A.A. degree from CCC&TI, my B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Methodist College, and my M.A. in Elementary Education and Ed.S from Appalachian State University. I taught for 15 years at Lower Creek Elementary and 10 years at Whitnel Four Seasons before transferring to Horizons in 2001 when the school opened. I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades here before retiring in 2006. I also taught College Reading part-time at CCC&TI for 21 years. I enjoy traveling with my husband and spending time with family and friends. |

Hi my name is Mrs. Carson-Webb. I am Horizons part time EC teacher. I graduated from Appalachian State University in the spring of 2003 and started teaching that fall. I enjoy spending most of my time with my husband and one year-old son. I also teach GA's on Wednesday nights and lead the children's choir at church. In my spare time, I love reading books and watching old movies.
