Associate of the Year

With sponsorship and support from the Bank of Granite, the school system honors one of its associates (non-certified) employees. There are 29 nominees representing 26 schools, Education Center, Maintenance Shop and Bus Garage. The representative must work more than four hours per day, five days per week for six or more calendar months during a fiscal year. All nominees are honored at an annual banquet held in April or May.

Associate of the Year site winners are selected by associates at their sites using secret ballots. Once tabulated, the top two or three will be listed on a ballot for a second vote. In the event of a tie, a runoff vote will be required. Site winners will need to complete a nomination form for system wide Associate of The Year. A selection committee will interview each candidate to determine a winner. The winner will be announced at a banquet in his/her honor that is sponsored by the Bank of Granite. All nominees receive certificates and a custom designed Associate of the Year Pin and each school has ten year plaque donated by the Bank of Granite that will have their name engraved on it. The Caldwell County Associate of the Year system wide winner will receive a $1,000 gift for his/her school and a $1,000 gift for personal use donated by the Bank of Granite.
