During this month much attention is given to promoting fire safety education within the schools. The North Catawba Fire Department does an outstanding job helping to educate the students at Baton Elementary. These firefighters spend the day at school visiting classrooms, displaying fire trucks and rescue equipment, distributing fire safety packets, and presenting a fire prevention puppet show that is second to none.
We are fortunate to have this dedicated group of firefighters serving our community. Thank you NCFD!
Summer Reading Program
The Baton Summer Reading Program was a huge success.Media Specialist, Linda Andrews created weekly fun-filled activities to promote a love for reading.An overnight slumber party, refreshments, and outdoor activities were the finale to the summer's end.
