ATTENDANCE/TARDY/SIGN-OUT POLICIES

Absences:

All absences require documentation.  After 3 absences per class, students will be required to bring in an official note according to Board Policy 3200 in order to be coded excused.

Students who come to school without a note stating why they were absent will be sent to ISS for the day.

 

Consequences for Unexcused Absences: 
 

1st Unexcused Absence Warning
2nd Unexcused Absence Parent Contacted
3rd Unexcused Absence 1 Day ISS
4th Unexcused Absence ISS until Parent Conference (Adminstrative Decision)
5th Unexcused Absence 1 Day OSS

 


Consequences for Unexcused Tardies:

 

 

1st Tardy Warning
2nd Tardy Parent Contacted (ALERT NOW)
3rd Tardy Lunch/After School Detention (30 min for 1 day) Failure to report 1 Day ISS
4th Tardy Lunch/After School Detention (30 min for 3 days) Failure to report will result in a day of ISS for each day missed
5th Tardy 1 Day ISS & Loss of Driving Privileges for 1 week - Parent Contact
6th Tardy 2 Days ISS & Loss of Driving Privileges for 2 weeks
7th Tardy 3 Days ISS & Loss of Driving Privileges for 3 weeks
8th Tardy Administrative Decision (1 Day OSS) & Loss of Driving Privileges for remainder of year-Parent Contact
9th Tardy Administrative Decision (2 Days OSS) & Loss of Exam Exemptions
10th Tardy 3 Days OSS - Student can't return to school until Parent Conference


 

Consequences for Unexcused Sign-outs:

Safety and liability issues necessitate that the school require parent/guardian/emergency contact must be physically present in order for a student to be signed out.  Therefore, parent notes, phone calls, faxes etc. to leave school generally will not be accepted. All sign-outs will be unexcused until proper documentation is presented to the Attendance Dean.

3rd Unexcused Sign-out 1 Day ISS
4th Unexcused Sign-out ISS until Parent Conference/Administrative Decision
5th Unexcused Sign-out 1 Day OSS

 

Participation in all extra-curricular activities including, but not limited to Prom and Graduation, is at the discretion of the Principal.
