My name is Kelly Smith. I am the Alternative Schools Transition Specialist for Horizons Elementary School and Gateway High School. I have a BS degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. I taught several years in a regular education classroom before transferring to Horizons Elementary School. I taught there for four years before becoming the Alternative Schools Transition Specialist. I also teach an ABE/GED class at Caldwell Community College several nights a week. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our wonderful daughter.
